    >Sick Sick Sick

    >Yesterday I was in ridiculous amount of pain with my ear, worse than I had been previously.  And I was dizzy and puked a bunch of times.  Today I still feel lousy, my back hurts and I have a nasty stomach as well. Falling apart at the seams, thats me! All content copyright Emma Crees, 2006 – 2012 unless otherwise stated http://writerinawheelchair.blogspot.com

    >Number one thing not to joke with a fat girl about.

    >Someone I know walked up to me today and went “I didn’t know you were having a baby.” Needless to say I just sat there and gaped at her and went “what?! I’m not.” And they said it again. I gave them a look. And they went belatedly “i’m joking.” But if they really were joking they should have said that sooo much sooner. Crash and burn. They claimed it was a joke because I was knitting and I was knitting with really bright (hot) pink yarn and apparently people only knit with pink yarn when they’re knitting for a baby girl?! so she thought it was funny. The yarn…

    >Magic Ointment

    >I have otitis externa 🙁 otherwise known as an outer ear infection. Or swimmers ear. However I didn’t need Abx, just some magic ointment. Well, technically they just referred to it as [name] ointment but I like to call it magic because it has an antibiotic, an anti fungal and a corticosteroid in it and it works super fast. Also calling it magic ointment is a lot easier to say that tri-adcortyl otic. I stuck to my diet yesterday despite feeling lousy. Today not so much. I’m not swimming today. And I must remember to buy some goddamn earplugs before i do swim next. Any ideas where to get them?…

    >Make a Cripple Smile

    >I had e-mail earlier this evening saying that I have another sponsor for Race for Life.  That made me smile lots, particularly when I saw that it was from my friend’s little boy and the message he left. I’m really looking forward to the 5K now and I have even (*gasp*) begun to think it might be kinda easy (*gasp*) but lets not say that too loudly, now, shall we? My weight isn’t going so well right now but I am really enjoying the training for the run.  So I’m smiley despite having gained 2lb this week and basically being as fat as anything. Of course, if you wanted to…

    >This makes my inner geek smile and laugh

    >I saw this on TV this evening and it made my inner geek very, very happy and made me laugh very, very hard. Brains FTWIt’s a TV advert for a type of bottled water. It features Brains from the TV show Thunderbirds dancing around a stage. After a short while he goes and drinks some water and then returns to the stage dancing more and harder than before. I’d probably call it break dancing. It’s definitely out of character but it’s pretty funny. At the end of the advert he’s on his knees with his arms in the air in a kind of big finish pose and the words “Brains…

    >Never Surrender, Never Give Up

    >There is now less than four weeks to go until the Race for Life. And so my friend Sam and I went walking this evening. I wheeled myself down to meet her and we walked for an hour. I wheeled myself the entire time and just needed help with two or so “they call it a dropped kerb but it’s not what a wheelchair user would call a dropped kerb” kerbs. And then I wheeled myself home. When she got home Sam went on mapmyrun.com and worked out that from my house to our meeting point is half a mile. And the route we walked is 1.67 miles. So with…

    >On Friendship and On Life

    > “True friendship is like sound health, the value of it is seldom known until it is lost.~ Charles Caleb Colton “We cherish our friends not for their ability to amuse us but for our ability to amuse them.”~ Evelyn Waugh “True friendship comes when silence between two people in comfortable~Dave Tyson Gentry I have many friends.  Good friends, occasional friends.  Acquaintances, work friends, friends of friends.  Family who are also friends.  Friends who are also family.  Just for a few days friends, fairweather friends, time apart can’t break us friends and nothing in common but I love ya anyway friends.  And many other types of friends too. Sadly I…

    >I went shopping in Reading today.  And I only came back with the things I went to get.  I came home, called both of my siblings separately, lay on my bed, read for a while.  Messed around online, made dinner.  Developed a headache.  Drank a load of diet coke.  Started a knitting project, watched Doctor Who whilst eating my dinner.   And then I popped out for some fresh air.  A normal day.  Nothing significant, nothing major. I stopped at the garage to get some chocolate and was idly wandering debating if I’d rather have biscuits (answer: yes if they’d had the ones I wanted).  Then I saw the box of…

    >Hey is there anyone out there reading this who does or has done Slimming World? I’ve been twice now and I’m finding the whole thing rather “eh”  I really don’t understand the diet and tend to think I don’t agree with some of it but that might be resolved if I understood it.  But getting to understanding is proving difficult.  Think I’m about 95% convinced i’m not going again but if anyone has any input on that or any other weight loss/diet methods or programmes it’s welcome.
