    >icons!

    > I've been playing with photoshop again today. I was out for drinks with friends last night from my creative writing group.  And there was some discussion about setting up a livejournal community for us to share work and get feedback.  We've got a facebook group but to be honest the changes made there don't make it great for that purpose. I've been wanting to take part some more in some of the disability and creative livejournal communities for a while.  I'm not a fan of it for blogging, I prefer blogger but the communities are great.  They can be a fantastic resource in more ways than one.  Fun too.…

    >Days 4 and 5

    > Yesterday I went to see my sister and we had take away pizza from Dominos and watched Harry Potter and The Half Blood Prince on DVD.  So I didn't have the opportunity to post about my thing of the day. I got some really nice yarn for my birthday (which is Christmas Day) and I've bought myself some more in two other colours.  And my vague plan is to knit squares with it and make some form of blanket.  Technically this is a felting yarn so I'm not sure how it will work out.  But I figure that I don't actually have to felt it.  I'll have to see…

    >Save DLA – A Response

    >I blogged several times last year about the Save DLA campaign.  As a part of that a petition was put on the official website of the Prime Minister.  And 23,707 people signed it. I received an e-mail a few minutes ago with a link to the official response to the petition. It’s not a fantastic response.  In fact it strikes me a bit as one of those responses that doesn’t really address the point being made.  But a hell of a lot of people spoke out and had their voice and their opinion heard.  And there was a response. I had thought that I’d heard a few weeks before the…

    >No you aren’t seeing double…

    >Just realised that the last three entries have each posted twice.  That’s to do with my attempts at posting them automatically from Thing A Day.  I think I know why it’s happened and I’m going to attempt to have it not happen tomorrow. >Trying new things

    > I really want to use this to try some new knitting things. I tried to make a silly bookmark today. It didnt work very well, mostly because I didn’t think it through well. So I ripped it back and now its just a garter one. >Twitter!

    > Today's thing was making a background image for my twitter feed.  It's similar to the one I did for my blog yesterday but also incorporates stars.  I really like it but for some reason had a lot of trouble getting the old layout off of twitter and this one on.  Given that it should be a simple case of uploading the new image it took a ridiculously long time.   I also made myself a name tag to use on twitter as my profile picture.  I liked to use those sometimes (actually a lot of the time) instead of photos on twitter and also on MSN. Having had some…

    >Day 1 – New blog layout

    > Today I redesigned my blog as my "thing".  It wasn't what I planned to do today (although I did plan to do it at some point this month) but some unexpected news knocked me for six and I've spent the day unable to concentrate on much.  So playing with photoshop was a better choice than trying to learn a new knitting stitch. I moved my blog from wordpress to blogger in September 2009.  And on wordpress I knew how to customise my own layout.  I didn't know how to do a lot with it but if there was a template I liked I knew enough to change the colours…
