Thursday Thirteen

Long, long, long time since I’ve done one of these Thursday Thirteen entries or even any sort of meme. But I just fancied it and given that it’s Thursday and T13 always was my favourite meme I figured why the hell not?!

Thirteen Books I’m Looking Forward To Reading

Dear Thing by Julie Cohen
Empire of The Sun by J.G. Ballard
The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins
The Wish List by Jane Costello
Love, Anthony by Lisa Genova
The Night Rainbow by Claire King
1Q84 by Haruki Murakami
Villette by Charlotte Brontë
The Longest Holiday by Paige Toon
The Painted Bridge by Wendy Wallace
Anna Karenina by Leo Tolstoy
Something Rotten by Jasper Fforde
Stolen Child by Laura Elliot.

It’s quite a mixed bag but then my reading tastes have always been eclectic. I always say I’ll try any book but I’m not a fan of horror. I read loads too – so far this year I’ve read 52 books! My goal is a probably unrealistic 150.

I’d love to hear book recommendations and/or opinions of the books I’ve listed.

  1. Hi there,

I cannot recommend The Hunger Games enough, they’re fantastic books. I’d advise reading Catching Fire before the film comes out because there’s a lot that will surprise you and they might miss some of it out. You’ve got some great posts on here, particularly this one: which we’ve shared with our followers.

I was wondering if you would consider writing a guest blog post for us? We’d love to host one of your articles and would really appreciate the diversity in writing style from our own. Don’t hesitate to contact me if you need anymore information and want to discuss this further.

  2. Funny how you are getting two requests in one day. 😀

I recently came across your blog and was very impressed with your writing and your story. I am in the process of helping to build an online company for people with physical disabilities. We hope to become the mainstream marketplace for products and services that help people overcome everyday physical obstacles. Along with the website I am working to create a network of bloggers with various disabilities or conditions writing about ways they “unlimit” their lives. If you feel like you may have something to contribute to UNlimiters, we would love to talk with you. I know you have you are very active in the online community and hope that you would like to make further connects and contributions. If you would be interested, we would love to have you do a blog for us as well.
Please visit our website,, and if you are interested let me know what you would charge to write blogs for us. We are just getting underway so the website is a work in progress. The “about us” and the blog links will let you know something about me and about Tiffiny, the first blogger I have recruited.
We would be interested in a weekly blog. I look forward to hearing from you.
