    G is for…

G is for “Gah! I’m stuck!” I’ve been struggling with what to write about for G. I had thought about writing about Games.  I like playing games online.  I’m not big on things like farmville.  I used to play Mafia Wars years ago. So long ago I can’t remember what you have to do. And I played Candy Crush for ages but gave up when it started getting to the point I needed to regularly buy stuff to continue.  I play stuff like solitaire and one off games on sites like RoyalGames most often.  But at the moment I’ve got Burger Bustle on my iPad and I’m playing that a…

    F is for…

F is for Fanfiction I love fanfiction. I’d call it my guilty pleasure but it’s not really guilty at all.It is however a huge part of the reason why I spend entirely too much time online. As I wrote in my A is for Author post I’ve written fanfiction since before I knew there was such a thing.  It’s a long time since I written any fanfiction but it’s one of my goals to do so this year.  Although the idea that I have is so wildly different from the show (NCIS) it would be based on that I’d have to do little more than change the names and city…

    E is for…

(a late post today because I’ve been making the most of this sunny Bank Holiday Monday and after laying in bed all morning I’ve been in the garden most of the afternoon reading and crocheting) E is for Emma I thought I could use this post to do a brief about me. I first thought about doing five facts you might not know about me but with as long as I’ve been blogging I think that’s a tricky one. So I’ll stick with telling a bit about myself and attempting not to cover anything that’s getting a letter of it’s own. It maybe disjointed it’s written and things come to…

    D is for…

D is for Depression I got part way through writing a post on a different subject for D (D is for disability advocacy) when I changed my mind and decided to write about depression. I have depression.  I’ve been on and off of antidepressants since 2003 and am currently taking them – I came off of them part way through last year and was off of them for almost a year before I crashed (well, I call it that) and had to go back on the meds although at a lower dose. I’ve been back on Sertraline since the end of February and am feeling a lot better.  I’m surprised…

    C is for…

C is for CP (Cerebral Palsy) I am life long disabled (a full time wheelchair user) because I have Cerebral Palsy or CP.  I wouldn’t be who I am today if I didn’t have it so what else would I write about for C in what I’m calling the A to Z of Emma? (well, actually there was something thought about but then I realised that topic under a different name would do for a letter I was stumped on so…) Here are five things I’d like people to know about CP CP is caused at or shortly after birth and is brain damage. There are many different types and…

    B is for…

B is for Books What else could it be but books? I’m a bookworm, always have been and always will be. I think it ties in with the writer in me. But even before I was a writer and even when I’m going through a dry spell with the writing I’m a reader.  I’m not sure it’s possible to be a good writer without being a reader too. I read 140 books in 2013 and 100 in 2014. This year I’m aiming for 120 but that goal may move along the way.  I always describe my reading preferences as “I’ll read anything and give it a go but I don’t…

    A is for…

A is for Author I have always wanted to be a writer and written stories. And I’ve blogged for nearly 15 years, since before it was called blogging in fact. I remember as a child around the age of 11 going to the shop with my Dad while on holiday in Puerto Pollensa, Majorca to be a notebook so I could write a story I had an idea for. That was a Star Trek: The Next Generation fanfic but it was years before I’d even heard of the term.  My next big story was around age 16 and that was a fanfic for ST:TNG too but I still hadn’t heard…

    A to Z Blogging Challenge

(I had intended to post this a couple of days ago but the last two have been good but busy) I’m taking part in the A to Z blogging challenge this month.  The idea is that everyday (except Sundays*) people post a short piece on their blog inspired by the letter of the day.  So today being the 1st of April would be A and 30th April would be Z.  These posts can be completely random or on a theme throughout the entire month.  People can then visit and comment on other blogs that are participating. I’m looking forward to the writing aspects of it as I think it’ll be…
