    >trashy and a case of tmi

    >Swimming today was brilliant! I swam 16 lengths (400 metres) and I walked 10 lengths (250 metres). There was clonus and sore legs after that but it was worth it. There was also an inability to put my knickers on when changing afterwards too and I ended up having to just put my jeans on and go commando. Which I think is probably the first time I’ve ever done that, lol and is weird. I was sitting there having hot chocolate afterwards and chatting thinking “I’m sat here with no underwear on and no one knows!” Only, now loads of people know because I wrote it here.I am tired now…

    >In order to be considered for the trip with the Jubilee Sailing Trust I had to write 200 words about myself and let the Rotary Club have them. I thought I would share what I wrote here, call it another chance to learn a bit more about me! I’m 24 and I have cerebral palsy. I use a wheelchair most of the time although I can walk a short distance with a walking frame. I went to university in Stoke-on-Trent and have a degree in Business Studies. I graduated two years ago and have been volunteering at the Citizens Advice Bureau in ****** ever since. I work as an adviser…

    >Swimming and a wonderful feeling

    >So… lets start off as becoming my Friday habit with the swimming stats for today. I walked 9 lengths or 225 metres and this time walked 3 lengths each time before having a rest. I also swam 15 lengths or 375 metres. Today was one of my swimming friends birthday, his name is Fred and his partner told us. He was with one of the other volunteers at the time and I was walking with Sheila so he didn’t know she told us. We were walking one way and Fred was coming right passed us with Ted in the opposite direction. Just before we got level with them Sheila said…

    >Walking, exams, family news and degrees, Oh My!

    >Last Friday at swimming I swam 20 lengths (500 metres) and walked 4 lengths (100 metres). Today at swimming I swam 24 lengths (600 metres) and walked 6 lengths (150 metres). And another member decided to try walking in the pool too ~ I guess that makes me a trend setter! I also did one of my best showerchair to wheelchair transfers I’ve ever done, with hardly any help. I got lots of really heartfelt comments of “well done Emma” and variations of that. And Sheila complimented me on my transfer. In other news, its been a pretty celebratory day for my family. I did all that good walking. My…

    >Good Stuff

    >Guess what? At swimming today I swam 20 lengths (500 metres – the pool is 25 metres long) and I WALKED 4 lengths (100 metres in total). Two with one volunteer walking backwards in front of me so I could hold onto their arms for balance. Then I had a rest, chatted a little and swam some more and walked two more with another volunteer doing the same as the first. And I am going out with a kind of new friend tonight for a few drinks – I’ve known her for a while but only professionally although we’ve always got on well. Good stuff. No, Great Stuff All content…
